WTF is a Tincture?

A tincture is a method to decoct herbs using a grain alcohol, which also helps preserve the herbs inside your tincture for longer periods of time than dry or fresh herbs on their own (from 6 months to a year).

Why? Because preparing an herb with a solvent (for Drip Den, a gluten free alcohol), captures and delivers plant nutrients and minerals that would otherwise pass through our bodies.

This way, our bodies are allowed easier access to herbal properties that bring us back into balance.

Tinctures are also great for self care on the go - in small, two ounce bottles, you can take a moment each day to add to a drink or under the tongue in your daily rituals.

Oh, and generally, the amount of alcohol in a tincture dose (about 2 dropperfuls) is the same as the amount of alcohol in a banana.

How long does it take to feel it?

Herbs are much more delicate and are to be used over a longer period of time before taking stock on how things have improved. They do not take a baseball bat to a nuanced issue. Herbs target the root (pun intended) of issues instead of tampering down the outward symptoms. It takes a few weeks for herbs to settle in and get to work.

What quality are the herbs being used?

All ingredients are USDA and OTCO Certified Organic, Non-GMO Verified, Earth Kosher, Fair-Trade and from a Zero-Waste facility. They are never tested on animals.

Why do we think this all works?

The use of plants dates back 60,000 years in human history. According to ancient practices, herbs can help balance the nature of the body by introducing energies that are depleted with plant enzymes. For example, if you’re cold, there’s an herb with a warming affect to balance your body temperature.

Unlike the immediate effects we’re used to in modern practices, it takes time for effects of plants to interact with your body. The concentration of tinctures speeds that up, but think about what you can do in your daily routine to bring more balance into your soul. Plants are gentle, and thus help usher our bodies back into balance by nourishing the body, mind, and soul.

We use herbs that have been a part of numerous clinical tests for our custom teas, and utilize knowledge from traditional holistic practitioners in addition to years of herbal academy education and practice.
